The Takashi Team
Although Takashi was launched to facilitate telecommunications start-ups, it has grown at various times in the last 10 years to create new companies, complete large and complex business planning projects -- Takashi is primarily led by Dan Armstrong and headquartered in downtown Amsterdam, The Netherlands.
Within Takashi are a group of expert partners which it considers to be area experts and has worked extensively with in the past. These professionals are brought in on projects to add knowledge or support in many business areas, and periodically join customer projects together as well.
Dan Armstrong
Dan Armstrong (1970) has been working on projects in mobile banking and payments, mobile telecommunications strategy and products, work in developing countries, NFC and transactions security, marketing, product feasibility, negotiations, project management, internet and mobile applications and products since 1994.
Within Takashi, he is responsible for 25+ projects and start-ups, consulting engagements and product launches - focusing on alternate telecommunications models, alliances, mobile financial services (mobile banking, mobile payments, electronic banking channels and security), as well as mobile hardware and software security.
Prior to Takashi, Dan was responsible for 3 years for internet, mobile and strategy business, development and team management within Telfort (NL) and earlier spent 4 years in the United States working in the internet industry as a team manager at MCI and Proxicom responsible for insurance, banking, manufacturing and telecommunications business lines for companies like Netscape, PepsiCo International, Traveler's Group, Kemper National Insurance, Tarmac America, Albright & Wilson, Georgia-Pacific, SAAB USA, TelecomUSA, AiB Software, VISA Interactive, marketplaceMCI, Major League Baseball, Owens Corning, Dun and Bradstreet and Radisson Hotels.
Teele Horstra
Teele Horstra (1965) has extensive professional experience in the information technology, banking, credit card and telecommunications industry which spans more than 25 years. Roles Teele has filled include IT and business architecture, project management, strategy and market consulting, entrepreneurial business-building and business support/intelligence. Teele has deep, specialty expertise in business solutions design, complicated programme delivery challenges, supply-chain management and payment systems.
Teele has been intimately involved in numerous Takashi projects, including the design and launch of Rabo Mobiel, where he also served as CIO/COO for 4 years. Additional clients Teele has worked for include Rabobank, Waterland Private Equity Investments, ZyLAB, Achmea, Mediakabel, Virgin Mobile, UniXS, Telfort Mobile, Sony 2Connect, and UniqueAir. Prior to independent consulting, Teele has held positions within large multi-nationals like American Express and ING Security Life.
Takashi relies on Teele's expertise in IT platforms and systems, mobile and credit card operations, business continuity, change management and technical design of business systems.
